Dentist’s epic climb raises £6,000 for charity

Hertfordshire dentist Anant Patel has raised more than £6,000 for Cancer Research UK by completing a sponsored climb of Mount Kilimanjaro.

He was joined on the 5,895m, six-day climb by brother-in-law, Ashvin Patel and friends Jeremy Good and Robert Osler.

Despite several health complications, he was spurred on to the summit by thoughts of all his sponsors.

On reaching the top, the Cancer Research UK banner was unfurled and a picture taken to record the event.

A 16-minute continuous loop video of the climb is currently playing in the waiting room of Dr Patel’s surgery in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.

Any additional donations will be welcome.

Dr Patel has paid all his own expenses so every penny of sponsorship money has been passed to Cancer Research UK.

Donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/anantpatel1.
