A Warwick dentist was killed in a bus crash over Christmas.
Gary Porter died in Morocco on 27 December after the vehicle he and his wife were travelling in went off the road.
The 31-year-old lived in the town with his wife Natalie and had worked at the Cape Road Dental Surgery for three years.
The couple were on their way to Marrakech when the accident happened.
Another five people also died in the crash. Mr Porter’s wife Natalie, 30, also a dentist, suffered minor injuries.
The couple, who had been married for five years, met while students in Bristol and lived in Warwick where they both worked.
They had spent Christmas Day with Mr Porter’s family in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, before heading to Marrakech.
His funeral took place in Ballymena at All Saints Church. He qualified from Bristol University and then went on to complete his vocational training in Shepton Mallet.
After this, Gary went on to accept a hospital post in oral-maxillofacial surgery where he gained extensive experience in all aspects of oral surgery as well as intravenous sedation.
After travelling the world with his wife, Gary chose to settle in Warwickshire and joined the team at Cape Road in 2005.
Colleague from the practice, Dominic Wild, said: ‘We are all truly numbed by the sad news of Gary’s sudden death, and the whole practice is shocked and saddened at the loss of such a good friend and valued member of the team.’
