Dental school boosted by new director

Daryll Jagger has joined the Peninsula Dental School as director of clinical dentistry and professor in restorative dentistry.

She joins the school in Exeter from the University of Bristol Dental Hospital and School.

Professor Jagger qualified as a dentist in 1986 from Cardiff Dental School.

Her new role at the Peninsula Dental School will see her lead, guide and support all clinical learning within the school to ensure that its graduates match or surpass the clinical excellence of graduates from other dental schools in the UK.

She will also take responsibility for academic staff and oversee the quality management of clinical teaching at the dental school.

In addition, she will act as the formal liaison between the school and practising dentists in the South West peninsula who choose to become clinical supervisors at the school.

Prof Jagger said: ‘I am delighted to be joining such an enthusiastic team of committed individuals and I relish the challenges that lie ahead.’

Professor Liz Kay, Dean of the Peninsula Dental School, added: ‘Daryll will bring fantastic experience and clinical excellence to this role. We are absolutely delighted to welcome her to the Peninsula Dental School.’
