Visitors to the BDTA Dental Showcase event are invited to attend a free seminar, entitled ‘The Business of Dentistry’, presented by leaders in business management in association with the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK) (stand N09).
The seminar will take place 9-m to 10am on Friday 13 November in the lecture theatre within the exhibition hall and places are available on a first come, first served basis.
George Manolescue and Penny Jones of Dental Business Solutions, and Paul Batchelor of the FGDP(UK), will examine key factors that underpin the success of small businesses and consider the implications for dental business owners.
The seminar will also provide a taster for the new Diploma in Leadership and Management, currently under development by the FGDP(UK).
This diploma builds on the success of the FGDP(UK)’s Certificate in Leadership and Management, one of several FGDP(UK) programmes offering gold standard training to dentists and dental care professionals (see www.fgdp.org.uk/education to find out more).
Tony Reed, executive director at the BDTA, said: ‘This lecture is designed to provide relevant and valuable theory supported by up-to-date examples which will be directly applicable to your practice.’
Showcase will also see the FGDP(UK)’s Dean, Russ Ladwa, launch the new edition of the FGDP(UK)’s authoritative Clinical Examination and Record Keeping: Good Practice Guidelines (CERK), which provides essential guidance on the practical and legal aspects of record-keeping in compliance with clinical governance standards.
The Dental Directory has kindly offered to host the launch in its hospitality facility (Stand P13) at 10.15am on Saturday 14 November. Showcase attendees are invited to come along and share a glass of bubbly.
