Dental implants stolen

Thieves have stolen a huge batch of dental implants worth thousands of pounds which experts believe may be sold on the black market.

The implants were taken from an Adin Dental Implant Systems factory, based near the Israeli city of Afula.

But the implants have not been sterilised and the company is urging dentists to look out for sales of implants at low prices.

Yossi Sharvit, a police commander in Afula, said that a similar crime had taken place earlier in the year and investigators were examining links between the incidents.

Police now believe that the implants will be sold around the West Bank and possibly smuggled abroad, which could be prove dangerous.
