Guests at the Slumdog Secret Millionaire charity dinner held at the end of June were treated to a spectacular evening of Indian cuisine, laughter and fantastic prizes.
The evening was the brainchild of dentist Seema Sharma, who established The Sharma Foundation to help projects in Mumbai after her visit there on Channel 4’s Slumdog Secret Millionaire.
Guests enjoyed a spectacular three-course meal courtesy of Cyrus Todiwala at his award winning restaurant The Café Spice Namaste in London and a stand-up routine by Paul Sinha.
Gary Dickinson from Discus Dental had the pleasure of winning Meera Syal’s book ‘Life isn’t all Ha Ha Hee Hee’ and meeting the comedienne/actress herself, as well as outbidding everyone for four James Caan entrepreneur seminar tickets.
Alistair McCance won the sailing trip and Sanjay Sharma became the proud owner of the star prize – a cricket bat signed by legendary Indian batsmen Sachin Tendulkar.
The dinner, which was supported by Henry Schein Minerva, raised a fantastic £8,000 and the team at Henry Schein Minerva and The Sharma Foundation would like to thank everyone who kindly donated and made the evening such an enjoyable and charitable event.
