The Private Dentistry Awards went with a bang last week as the event celebrated its 10th anniversary on Bonfire Night – Friday 5 November.
A record crowd of 500 people descended on London’s Intercontinental hotel, creating an electric atmosphere as the cream of the private dental profession celebrated late into the night.
The awards recognise the very best in private practice but have a social conscience, too.
Actor Ian Kelsey took the stage early in the afternoon to raise awareness about the work of the One Foundation.
The UK charity works with communities in Africa to address pressing humanitarian needs such as clean drinking water, nutrition and sanitation.
The audience raised more than £4,500 for the charity during the ceremony, which will be put towards a new PlayPump – an innovative water system that uses a specially crafted children’s roundabout to pump fresh water from deep underground. It is a simple idea but one that is changing the lives of thousands of African people.
