The Mouth Cancer Foundation, has awarded a grant of £12,000 to The Institute of Cancer Research.
The founder of the Mouth Cancer Foundation Dr Joshi says: ‘Head and neck cancer survivors suffer from many severe side-effects with current treatments.
‘Our charity is pleased to support Dr Kevin Harrington’s research into targeted therapies for head and neck cancers which could improve survival while reducing these problems and improve patients’ quality of life.’
Dr Elizabeth Rapley, the scientific spokesperson for The Institute of Cancer Research says: ‘We are grateful to the Mouth Cancer Foundation for their support of Dr Harrington’s research. This grant will help us develop new targeted treatments for nearly 8,000 patients diagnosed with mouth and other head and neck cancers each year in the UK.’
