A Derby-based manufacturing firm has earned national recognition by becoming regional winners and national finalists in the HSBC Business Thinking 2010 Awards.
As regional winners, infection-control experts, Dentisan, was commended for its ability to identify and meet market needs and the significant inroads made in healthcare and dentistry.
The company has established its own-brand premium infection control solutions.
The Awards, which culminated in a weekend presentation held in Hong Kong last December, began with more than 3,000 applicants six months before.
Over the past three years, Dentisan has emerged as an innovative manufacturer of infection control products in dentistry and has identified the needs of dentists and made this the driving force behind recent product developments, such as the Biocleanse range of alcohol-free detergent/disinfectant wipes and liquids.
Sales and marketing director Bob Newsome says: ‘We are perfectly placed to meet the needs of the market because our UK-based manufacturing capability enables us to identify a problem and then create a solution from scratch rather than having to simply “sell” products we are provided with, so all our products are specifically designed to meet latest HTM01-05 guidance.
‘Reaching the last six of the HSBC Business Thinking Awards was a great boost for us and an external validation of both our products and our business model.’
