Dental forum has the Smile Factor!

One of the busiest dental websites in the world has opened its doors to an all-new online forum to help practices and event organisers share ideas during National Smile Month.

To coincide with the relaunch of www.dentalhealth.org, the British Dental Health Foundation has introduced a forum where dental practices can come together to discuss the up-and-coming campaign while sharing thoughts about any event ideas.

Taking place between 15 May and 15 June, the Foundation will run its 35th National Smile Month campaign – with this year’s theme being the ‘Smile Factor’.

The largest oral health campaign in the UK, National Smile Month, has proven to be a highly effective platform for local promotions by dental practices and educators to spread the message of good oral health.

For Dr Nigel Carter, chief executive of the British Dental Health Foundation, the growth of the campaign as a whole, along with an increase of mass participation from dental practices has led to the launch of the charity’s first online forum.

‘A major reason for the success of National Smile Month is the enthusiasm and hard work of the thousands of organisers who are dedicated to pushing the positive message of good oral health.

‘Year on year, these hard-working people stage some really imaginative and unique ideas. The thought behind this forum is to share some these ideas amongst a mass community and to talk about ways you can use the campaign to deliver more comprehensive messages to your local community.

‘If you have taken part in National Smile Month before then you can use this tool to part some of your wisdom and experience of the campaign to others. Those who are new to the campaign, then why not use the forum to see what others are doing and hear about the successes they have had.’

‘Last year, we had well over one million visitors to the website, many of them searching for help and advice. Whether you are a dentist, hygienist, dental nurse or oral health educator, we ask you to enter our forum and join in,’ Dr Carter added.
