This September, Colgate, in partnership with the British Dental Association, continues with the Colgate Oral Health Month initiative.
Colgate Oral Health Month is a leading UK campaign to promote good oral health, and a great opportunity to encourage communication between dental professionals and patients. The theme for the 2011 is focusing on ‘The Importance of a Good Oral Care Regime for a Healthy Mouth’ utilising the following messages:
• Brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, last thing at night and on one other occasion
• Just spit after toothbrushing, rinsing washes the fluoride away!
• Avoid toothbrushing straight after acidic food or drinks to help prevent enamel erosion
• Avoid sugary snacks and drinks between meals
• Visit the dentist regularly
Colgate Oral Health Month provides the entire dental team with an opportunity to get involved in a nationwide campaign.
A consumer Colgate road show will visit major retailers at selected venues throughout the month of September, and dental hygienists and therapists will be available to provide oral care advice including the importance of a good oral care regime for a healthy mouth.
The first 9,000 UK dental practices registered to take part in Colgate Oral Health Month will each receive a practice pack at the end of August. Practice packs contain educational and promotional materials, patient samples and materials to help dental teams create their own practice displays to drive the awareness of this initiative. Information is also included within the practice packs to help each practice get the most out of participating in Colgate Oral Health Month.
Take full advantage of Colgate Oral Health Month to promote your practice through local press.
The Colgate Oral Health Month ‘Practice PR Toolkit’ found in the practice pack includes a template press release to let local newspapers know what your practice is doing to support local oral health.
