Roger Matthews, chief dental officer with Denplan, is optimistic about the state of the UK dentistry profession.
Flying in the face of last week’s comments made in a blog by the BDA’s Susie Sanderson last week, he said: ‘Don’t ever tell me this is not a good time to be doing dentistry.’
Susie, chair of the British Dental Association’s (BDA) executive board, blogged on the BDA’s website: ‘This could be the worst time in living memory to be a general dental practitioner in England. That isn’t a statement I make lightly or happily, but sadly it is one I make fairly confidently.’
But, Dr Matthews, speaking at the Showcase launch of Denplan’s new marketing aid for practices, was more upbeat.
He said: I think is the best time possible to look to the future of the profession and we are there to help dentists take advantage of the technology to do just that.
Denplan’s new innovation will ease the pain of marketing for practices.
Denplan CommsBuilder, launched as the company celebrates 25 years in business, creates marketing solutions for the dental practice by providing templates ready to customise in just a few clicks.
Practices can choose preferred colours and images, add their logo and include their own text of choose from suggested text to create their own bespoke piece of literature.
Practices can then download a print-ready PDF to pass onto their chosen printer or click the ‘order’ option to have the items professionally printed through Denplan’s partner company. These are then printed and delivered back to the practice – all in a service that can prove to be up to 80% cheaper than most high street printing companies.
Commenting at the launch, Denplan’s marketing communications and brand manager Sarah Bradbury said: ‘Denplan recognises that marketing is vital in the modern business environment. And as supporting member practices is what we do, we’ve looked to make this process easier for members and their practice teams.
‘Denplan CommsBuilder is a completely free and exclusive service for our members. It complements the support supplied by our consultants and our practice marketing support team, while demonstrating our continuing commitment to practice support.’
