One of the country’s foremost implant dentistry training providers is about to celebrate a significant milestone as it comes to the end of its most successful year in business yet.
Dentists undertaking implantology training at Dentale’s dedicated clinics in the West Midlands and South West of England are set to have placed more than 1,000 implants over the course of 2011.
Projected figures reveal the company will break through the 1,000 implant a year barrier for the first time during December, with the total number of implants placed by dentists on its courses during the last 12 months up a staggering 63% from 2010.
The news marks the culmination of a highly successful year for Dentale, which has seen the number of dentists enrolling on its ever-expanding range of training courses increase by nearly 60%, an outcome that is reflected in the company’s turnover in the 2010-11 financial year growing by 115% compared to the previous 12 months.
Debbie Snelson, group manager of Dentale, said: ‘These figures are testament to the quality of the courses on offer. They really do provide dentists with the hands-on, surgical experience they require to learn the art of implant dentistry.
‘For example, delegates undertaking our advanced course will place at least 15, and in many cases up to 25 implants, on consenting patients, all under the watchful eye of our vastly experienced course tutors, giving them the clinical time they need to perfect their skills.’
The company runs a variety of hands-on, practical programmes, including its popular five-day Introduction to Implant Dentistry and 10-day Advanced Practical Implantology courses.
It also offers training across a range of other techniques such as sinus lifts, along with modules specifically tailored for dental nurses, including the National Certificate in Dental Nursing, and its Comprehensive Introduction to Dental Implants for Nurses and Advanced Implant Dental Nursing courses.
Debbie added: ‘Next year is shaping up to be just as exciting as the previous 12 months. Under the guidance of our expanding team of renowned tutors, we’re going to be introducing even more new training programmes, including a dedicated Soft Tissue Course, while interest in both our introductory and advanced implantology courses remains extremely high.’
