Smile4Heroes dental campaign launches

A campaign encouraging dentists to offer free dental care to injured ex-service personnel was launched this week.

Smile4Heroes aims to provide extra dental treatment to some of the UK’s many injured ex-service personnel in a time when many are rebuilding their lives and in need of a confidence boost.

So far, 20 dentists have signed up to the cause and the Smile4Heroes Foundation will build a team of dental professionals throughout the UK who will give their time and expertise to rebuild the smiles and confidence of those injured in active service in the armed forces.

Founder Daniel Pinder says: ‘My goal for setting up Smile4Heroes is to help build the confidence of these people in a time when many are rebuilding their lives.

‘The intention is to provide something extra to these people – the Defence Dental Services (DDS) provide an amazing service and I want people to know what an amazing job they do.’

‘We only ask dentists to provide the treatment they are happy to (over and above what has been provided by the DDS before their discharge from the services) and help give one of our heroes a boost in the time when many of them need it the most.’

The founding clinical team is Nik Sisodia of Ten Dental in Clapham, Donald Sloss of Clock Tower Dental in Ripon, Gurs Shemi of Onyx Dental in Ealing and founding company partners are
Mint Branding and Marketingand FMC, Dentistry’s Information Centre.
