BADN’s Pam celebrates 20 years with Association

BADN chief executive Pam Swain celebrated 20 years with the Association at a drinks reception in London earlier this month.

The event, hosted by WR Berkley, Parliament Hill, Purple Media and WMS was held at the Mayfair Exchange, Brook Street in the West End and was attended by many of the people Pam has worked with over the last 20 years.

Former President Angie McBain, speaking on behalf of the Association’s Past Presidents, emphasised Pam’s dedication to the Association and the changes she made to what was then a small niche association.

She said she had brought it into the 21st century and made it the largest and most professional of the DCP  associations . She also paid tribute to the endless support she had provided to Past Presidents, Council  and members of the Association.

Pam was also presented with a pearl necklace, a gift from the BADN Council, by Finance Officer Joan Hatchard.

In her reply, Pam reminisced about the concern her appointment had caused 20 years ago, due to her business rather than dental background, and thanked Barbara McRury, Geraldine Benson and Pat Heap – the panel who had originally appointed her – for their support and willingness to take that risk.

Pam was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2012 Dental Awards; she is also the 2012-2013 President of Soroptimist International Blackpool & District.
