The Cariescan Pro has moved out its academic research phase and taken a new direction with a new commercial approach.
That’s according to CEO Graham Lay who says the company is ‘totally comfortable about the performance of the caries detector’ that delivers 94.8% accuracy.
Graham explained: ‘We no longer have to convince people that it works. We have gone through a long period of external validation and have now reached the point where I can say: ‘I know it works.’
With key dental figures such as head of dentistry at Warwick University, Ed Lynch, a major supporter, Cariescan Pro is being rolled out to increasingly numbers of UK dental practices with those already using it keen to share its success.
Graham added: ‘The unit, measures the mineralisation of the tooth enabling early caries detection, is both reliable and offers opportunities for practices to make money with a preventive approach that increases footfall. The false positives are really low compared to competitors.’
With dental dealers, Kent Express, now on board, there is a Showcase deal on Cariescan at £995 (usual price £1,599).
