Beating off stiff competition from across the south west, leading dental manufacturer Prima Dental has won the Small Manufacturer of the Year Award in the Insider’s South West International Trade Awards.
Organised by leading business magazine South West Business Insider, the awards seek to celebrate international business success stories across the south west and highlight businesses that are excelling across the globe through excellence in service provision, manufacturing and innovation.
Over 150 companies and professionals gathered at the awards ceremony on 12 June at Bristol Hotel in Bristol to celebrate the awards. The event was compared by Dave Harvey of BBC’s Points West.
Dan Hodgson, head of sales at Gloucester-based Prima Dental, collected the trophy at the awards ceremony and commented: 'We are delighted to be recognised in these prestigious awards and it is a great honour to win this manufacturing trophy. It has recently completed a major £2.8 million investment in high-performance technology at its production facility in Waterwells Business Park in Gloucester, and also launched a range of innovative web-based tools to capitalise on growing demand for its dental products across the world.
Harnessing digital technology and social media, Prima Dental has developed an iPad App for dental clients around the world – the first of its kind in its sector. Prima Dental has also launched a new multi-tier website and a suite of e-learning tools, pioneering new ideas in dental e-learning for its clients and trade partners around the world.
This is the first year that the awards have been run in the south west and there are 10 categories including awards for manufacturers, businesses in the services industry
