Anna Suwalowska is a Polish-born, London-based artist and, under the title ‘Folklore and Teeth’ she is exhibiting a series of illustrated books and drawings in the final-year exhibition at the Kensington campus of the Royal College of Art.
Currently studying for an MA, she uses the media of painting, drawing, photography, collage and installation.
Anna trained and worked as a dental technician before she enrolled in a course to study visual communications.
Her work includes pieces entitled, The Story of the Tooth Worm, St Apollonia, the Patroness of Dentistry, The Golden Tooth of a Polish Boy and Toothache.
Anna describes herself as an artistically supercharged dental technician turned artist, who subjects teeth to artistic, lyrical and cultural scrutiny.
The exhibition runs from today until 30 June at the Royal College of Art, Kensington Gore, Stevens Building, Studio 1 in London SW7 2E.
The exhibition runs from 12noon until 8pm (closed 28 June) and is open free of charge to the public.
