Doing it the right way

On Saturday 28 September, Dental Maintenance Plan (DMP) and Dentabyte Ltd will be co-hosting an event, featuring celebrated guest speakers of international repute, each with a specific area of expertise, to help you make the right decisions with your new practice.

Dental Maintenance Plan was formed to provide a range of payment plans for dental treatment, which could then be tailored to the requirements of individual dentists as well as practices. DMP takes a keen and supportive interest in the growth and development of its user dentists. Dentabyte Ltd is a leading practice management training and compliance consultancy company with innovative software and visionary leadership and management techniques.

Programme content

Intent on helping dentists and practice managers ‘get everything right, right from the start,’ the seminar will cover four key subject areas. DMP’s managing director, Alan Scaplehorn, will begin the day with a brief introduction – welcoming attendees and speakers to an exciting day packed with advice, tips and proven techniques for success.

The first area covered will be ‘Buying your practice’ – with presentations entitled ‘What is a practice really worth?’ with Dental Elite’s director Luke Moore, and ‘What does a buying a practice involve?’ with Cohen Cramer’s Thomas Coates.

Both these lectures will aim to provide an informative and interesting outlook on the preparation before the decision-making. The day will then move on to ‘Setting up your practice’, in which Dentabyte’s CEO Seema Sharma and Sarah Buxton, from Cohen Cramer, will each conduct a presentation on ‘vision’ and ‘action’. Creating foundations for your team, establishing a robust management and excelling with a high performing ‘dream team’ will be just a few of the key points touched upon.

Once you are firmly in the driving seat, then ‘Running your practice’ will be covered by Seema Sharma, providing attendees with her experienced advice and recommendations on the four M’s – marketing, money, monitoring and millionaires. Seema will be sure to cement these thoughts in the next session: ‘Put your foot on the pedal; keep your eye on the road’.

To bring an end to the formal part of the day and show how success can be achieved, Dr Arjun Kachhala, current chair of The Young Dentist Foundation, and Dr Anoup Nandra, board member of The YDF, are delighted to deliver a personal account of ‘how they did it’ – from gleaning national recognition in The Dentistry Awards and to featuring in Dentistry’s Top 50.

The day will close with an ‘Ask the experts’ panel discussion and open forum, where attendees will be able to gather extra information as well as advice.
