‘Grooming’ dentist struck off

The allegation against Artur Wiktor, who worked in Preston, was in connection to his conviction of one count of attempting to meet a female child under 16 following grooming.

On 8 March, Mr Wiktor was sentenced to the following: 12 months' imprisonment suspended for two years; notification applies for 10 years; a Sexual Offences Prevention Order for a period of 10 years until further order; and disqualified from working with children indefinitely.

In considering this case, the GDC's professional conduct committee said:

‘The committee has imposed the highest possible sanction in this case, as it is satisfied that Mr Wiktor's conduct and behaviour are incompatible with professional registration. It is also satisfied that he poses an ongoing risk to the public.’

Mr Wiktor was neither present nor represented at the hearing.

Unless Mr Wiktor, who was immediately suspended, exercises his right of appeal, his name will be struck off the register in 28 days' time.
