At an awards ceremony at the Royal Society of Medicine, Gareth Calvert was awarded the prize after the assessors were impressed with his presentation entitled “Tooth where?” which described the diagnosis and management of a case with tooth surface loss and the treatment that led to improvement in pre- and post-operative patient scores.
Commenting on it being the 27th year in which the company Schottlander Limited has enthusiastically supported the prize, Brian Schottlander said: ‘The progress of the Society to one that now takes in fixed, removable, implant to maxillofacial prosthodontics reflects the inter-disciplinary approach that is needed for so much of modern dentistry to optimise clinical outcomes, an approach that colours our own research and development decisions’.
