Visitors to this year’s Dentistry Show were in for a real treat as Practice Plan quadrupled its attendance with, not one, but two exhibition stands, a Business Skills Workshop Theatre and a re-creation of the famous Amarillo video. With cocktails flowing and a choice of 10 top speakers all delivering their 10 top tips to help dental practices grow and develop, visitors to the show were spoilt for choice.
The place to be
The Practice Plan stand was the place to be, visitors to the stand were greeted with a tasty choice of cocktails and mocktails to either kick start the day or finish the day on a high! Afterall, there’s no better way to discuss practice-branded membership plans than over a nice drink.
The second Practice Plan stand was the home for bookings of the Business Skills Workshop Theatre that was run in conjunction with the Dentistry Show and made its appearance for the first time this year. Here, the show’s visitors were spoilt for choice with the two-day speaker line-up that saw a range of 30 minute sessions delivered by 10 top dental industry speakers, all covering 10 business themed topics and all delivering their own 10 top tips.
First come first served
With standing room only in many of the lecture sessions, it was only the quickest that secured their space. Sue Atkins, practice manager at Carisbrook Dental Care, gave us her feedback on the Sheila Scott lecture – Lead your team to success – that she attended.
‘Sheila was a very engaging speaker. Her top 10 tips made lots of sense in a short period of time.’
Attendees to Sheila’s lecture came away with 10 top tips on how to engage and motivate your team with Sheila’s message: ‘It’s not all about you… it’s all about the team. Pay attention to nurturing and developing your team and your team will develop your business.’
Keeping you up-to-date
If you missed the show and are intrigued to find out more about the 10 top tips on offer, keep an eye on the Practice Plan Facebook and Twitter posts, as we’ll be releasing top tips from the speakers to help you to boost your business. To whet your appetite, here’s Emma John’s top tip on how to stand out from the crowd: ‘It’s all about the focus. Dental practices place a lot of importance on – and invest heavily in – getting new customers, but rarely is the same focus placed on keeping current ones!’
All in aid of charity
Finally, and in aid of a good cause, we tried our hand at our own version of the timely classic Amarillo. With Practice Plan’s marketing director Les Jones at the healm, members of the Practice Plan team, together with other well-known industry faces donned their best singing voices, smiled and shimmied their way around the show floor all in aid of the charity Bridge2aid. Keep your eyes peeled, the video will be available to view soon and you won’t be disappointed!
So that was Practice Plan’s Dentistry Show 2014.
