There’s excitement in the air as Practice Plan announce the arrangements for its forthcoming workshop tour. Every year, the tour gets bigger and better and this year is no exception. Not only has it added another date to the tour calendar, taking it to 13 dates across the UK, but it has also managed to bag a truly inspiring internationally renowned speaker, Joy Marsden.
For many of us Joy will be relatively unknown, but by the end of the day, you’ll be so motivated and empowered, you’ll have wished your paths had crossed sooner. Taking on the topic of how to ‘survive and thrive’ in an ever-changing industry, Joy will support every member of the dental practice through this thought-provoking one-day masterclass, helping practices gain skills needed to be able to deal with challenges and change with a positive outlook.
We all have days or even weeks where it feels that we’re constantly reacting to an increasing number of changes and pressures; changes in legislation, team structure or even a threat of change to NHS contracts. Joy will spend time focusing on key coping strategies that will see you through these sometimes stressful periods, helping to ensure the success of the practice.
Motivate and inspire
It’s not all about the pressures of change though; the ideas and skills developed throughout the day will also help to motivate and inspire your team. Covering the topic of effective engagement with both patients and practice colleagues and looking at situations through the eyes of others is key to the day, with Joy uncovering new perspectives that will inevitably lead to improved communication all round.
Speaking about her recent encounter with Joy, Lesley Smith from the Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust had this to say: ‘Joy was excellent and will certainly help encourage the team to work with changes and decision-making in the future. Her day was set at just the right level to be both useful and fun. We really enjoyed the day.’
Tour dates and locations
The 13-date tour will start on the 1 and 2 of September in Manchester and will then work its way around the country stopping at 10 other locations including Edinburgh, Newcastle, Nottingham and London Heathrow to name just a few.
