New plans for a £2.9 million ‘superclinic’ in the heart of Canary Wharf

New plans for a dental surgery in Canary Wharf announced

The Canary Wharf community will soon be able to access first class healthcare services, including dentistry, on their doorstep.

Bupa has today announced plans for a new flagship health and dental centre in Crossrail Place Canary Wharf, which will hold the latest clinical equipment, and will boast eight dental surgeries, and 17 consultation rooms.

‘The centre is in a great central location, close to where people work and transport links, with a range of appointment times including outside office hours, and a suite of services such as running checks and dental treatments,’ Joy Linton, general manager for Bupa Health Services, said.

‘We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers.’

‘Superclinic’

Bupa has said its ‘superclinic’ will offer busy working professionals a one stop shop for their healthcare needs.

The 8,000 square foot (the size of three tennis courts) will host services including health assessments, GP appointments, dental, physiotherapy and sports physician, and travel vaccinations, as well as a range of convenient evening and weekend appointments.

The clinic will be available to everyone, regardless of whether they have private health insurance, and will open its doors in August.

‘We are investing heavily in transforming the way we deliver health services to our customers, and are very excited to be opening a new centre in Canary Wharf, which is designed with convenience for the customer firmly in mind,’ Joy Linton continued.

‘This is one of many investments to develop and grow our business, helping to make high-quality healthcare accessible to more people.’

Continuing development

The Bupa Health and Dental Centre, Canary Wharf (Crossrail Place), will be replacing three smaller health and dental centres – Marsh Wall, Churchill Place and Upper Bank Street.

The Bupa Dental Centre in Columbus Courtyard will remain open.

Located on level 0 of Crossrail Place, the £2.9 million investment is latest in Bupa’s investment programme, building and developing new facilities, products and services.

Last year over £12 million was spent on new centres and refurbishments, including the acquisition of 13 new dental centres.

So far in 2015 Bupa has invested around £4 million, with plans to invest a further £25 million in new health and dental centres.
