Onsite has organised a tour of the UK in a 53-foot transportable dental practice, where affiliated dental professionals will be providing free oral annual health checks, dental examinations, dental cleaning as well as systemic health education.
‘We like to do things differently,’ Jamie Morley, general manager for Align Technology in the UK and Ireland, said.
‘The product’s innovative, and we try to approach the market differently.
‘The concept is really unique, it’s a different concept and made absolute sense in terms of ease for patients.
‘It also engages with our providers as well.
‘It’s great to raise awareness direct to patients of Invisalign, but then we can engage with our dentists and doctors to come onto the bus that day.
‘So it brings everything together.’
Making it easy to see the dentist
The Onsite tour will visit large business parks and offer free dental and overall health checks to workers in the area.
The tour started in London in April and aims to see over 80,000 patients in the six months it will run en route to Glasgow.
‘The whole convenience of it struck a chord with all of us,’ Jamie continued.
‘People are busier and busier, so lets make it as easy as possible to visit the dentist.’
Align Technology called in local dentists to help out with the tour and see patients.
Following the mobile tour, interested workplaces can continue ongoing care with the local dentists via Onsite’s innovative ‘Pop-Up Dental Centres’, which are set up within the business’ premises, or connect them back to a traditional dental practice nearby.
The touring dental practice is an ingenious construction that concertinas out from a 53ft pantechnicon to become a three-roomed dental practice – as well as providing space for a waiting room and educational area – which complies with all Care Quality Commission dental regulations.
It can be set up in a car park and plugged-and-plumbed-in overnight to be up and running within hours of arrival on site.
