Need a helping hand achieving your dream dental business?

IdeasPractice Plan offers a series of regional events to help you make sense of running a business.

There are very few dentists who leave dental school with a clear understanding of how to run a successful ‘business’. As a result, dentists very often have a steep and sometimes painful learning curve when it comes to running a practice. That’s when a little extra support and direction can come in handy.

Practice Plan is committed to helping your practice succeed in any way we can. As such, we offer a wide range of industry-leading support services to ensure you have everything you need. One of the many ways in which we support our member practices (and non-members too) is by delivering a full events calendar, jam-packed with workshops to help you and your team fine-tune your dental business skills.

Regional events

Earlier this year we launched our regional events – a new wave of events covering the length and breadth of the country that provide a more tailored solution to our practices’ training requirements. Working closely with our UK-wide network of regional support managers, we assess demand for topics in specific regions of the UK, rather than across the country as a whole, finding out what training needs our practices have, allowing us to provide a bespoke training solution to that geographical location.

Our regional events are informal, bite-sized sessions, typically lasting three to four hours, which enable practices to participate in training and enhance their skills without taking a whole day out of practice. We have a plethora of much sought-after speakers on board waiting to be parachuted in to deliver outstanding business advice, including Sheila Scott, Ashley Latter and Pat Langley, to name just a few.

Low-cost local training

Danielle Quigley, events and marketing manager at Practice Plan, explains the idea behind their regional events: ‘There has been a clear shift in practices wanting to attend low-cost, local events to fulfil their training needs and top-up on verifiable CPD hours. This has led to the creation of our regional events, which we believe will allow dental practices to access the high-quality business training they require on a regular basis, without the need to travel too far.’

The events are open to all, and attendees can expect to leave the sessions informed and inspired, having received a wealth of practical tips and advice that can be implemented immediately, supporting teams to find efficiencies and improve the day-to-day management of their practices.

Speaking of the recent ‘CQC changes’ regional event hosted by Pat Langley, Anthea Hardiman, owner of Stoke Lane Dental Practice, commented: ‘I was really impressed with this workshop. The speaker broke the subject down and made it digestible, interesting and inspiring. I look forward to the next event!’

In-demand topics

We are squeezing in many more business-themed regional events before the year comes to an end, hosting sessions on many in-demand business topics, including increasing telephone enquiry conversions, recruiting more patients to your dental membership plans, improving your team’s sales communication skills and increasing the recruitment and retention of patients at your practice.
