Show your support for Peter

Screen Shot 2016-04-28 at 16.44.25We are calling on Dentistry.co.uk readers to support Peter Douthwaite.

Peter, a 23-year-old from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, is suffering from a rare form of spinal cancer – cervical chordoma, which affects just 50 people worldwide per year.

Peter has undergone proton beam therapy in Switzerland, debulking surgery in the UK and treatment with an investigational drug.

All treatments have so far been unsuccessful and Peter has been giving the devestating news that his tumour continues to grow.

Sadly there are no further treatment options for Peter in the UK.

However, there is one last hope.

The Chordoma Foundation in America offers a service where part of Peter’s tumour can be tested for its response to numerous drug therapies, giving him another chance at survival and offering hope to his friends and family.

Of course, this potential treatment is not funded by the NHS.

Please donate

Peter’s loved ones have set up a Justgiving page to fund this specialist treatment in America.

The cost is £50,000, and the fundraising has already raised nearly £24,000.

Dentistry is reaching out to the dental profession and asking you to show your support for Peter.

Please visit the Justgiving page, https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/ForpetersSake, to donate.

No donation is too small; your contribution will be used to fund potentially live-saving treatment for Peter, as well as supporting the Chordoma Foundation.

Thank you.
