Fearne Cotton has announced she has undergone orthodontic treatment, in a revealing selfie posted on Instagram.
The image appears to show clear brackets on her lower arch.
The brackets are similar in appearance to some currently available short-term orthodontic treatments.
The 35-year-old TV presenter uploaded the picture, with the caption: ‘EmBRACE-ing it all’.
The post to her 1.4 million Instagram followers was met with support.
One fan commented: ‘Big up adult braces! I did it too!, while another praised Fearne for the image’s frankness, saying: ‘Love that Fearne isn’t afraid to show what real girls are made of!’
Fearne joins her bestie Holly Willoughby in undergoing orthodontics in adult life.
in 2011, Holly received short-term orthodontic treatment.
She wore clear braces on her upper arch for around two months.
Fearne also joins fellow TV presenter Saira Khan, who is currently undergoing clear aligner treatment.
In an exclusive interview with dentistry.co.uk, Saira explained her reasons for undergoing clear aligner treatment in adulthood, and her experiences so far.
She said: ‘I felt aligner treatment is less intrusive and the modern technology allowed me to get a better understanding of what my teeth would look like after the treatment’.
