Do you feel like you’re stuck on the dental treadmill and struggling to keep on top of things? Steve Allen explains how The Dentist’s Advantage can help.
Over the years, there have been many nights of tears at home thinking ‘Oh my God, this is getting on top of me’. I never thought that anything would ever get on top of me. I was devastated by it. I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t been bloody hard, but now it’s about the future.
I don’t know what your situation is, but if you’re like me, you feel the pressure of constant change; the pressure to meet all the various demands; the pressure of being too busy doing things that don’t make a big difference for you; and often going home feeling tired and useless.
I was on the dental treadmill – one of my own creation…I couldn’t run any harder. I was running as fast as I could but getting further behind. I wanted to get off, but I was trapped. Deep inside I knew something was wrong and I felt fatigued and burnt-out. I developed stomach ulcers, back problems, and high blood pressure. My practice was sucking the ‘life’ out of me.
I wanted out of the ‘trap’, but the lifestyle I had created wouldn’t let me do it. I was scared and afraid I’d lose everything!
Everyone has a choice
I could either take action or I could hang back and hope for a miracle. Miracles are great, but they are so unpredictable! A high-income job was costing me my life.
I took action. I did whatever it took to get my life back. I maximised my practice’s profitability and sustainability by dramatically reducing my overheads and being a part of a positive, life affirming community going in a healthy direction. Surviving in dentistry requires so much more than just expertise in dental procedures.
I regularly speak with fellow colleagues, and it’s shocking to hear that so many dentists and practice owners face the same fears and yet, do not have a set plan to navigate through these troubled waters.
As dentists and practice owners, we’re facing a period of uncertainty, change and transformation. The only certainty we have is that there will always be change. This is a new era. The mindset of ‘work harder and work more’ is no longer a viable strategy. Not only is this a formula for early burn out and lower quality of lifestyle, but our industry, government regulations, and economy are all shifting, making it more difficult for practice owners to prosper.
My own pain and frustration, led me to develop The Dentist’s Advantage.
The Dentist’s Advantage
The Dentist’s Advantage specialises in providing a membership discount program for dentists, as well as a powerful, positive community of like-minded people guiding and helping each other. You won’t understand the amazing power of such a community until you’re part of one.
Members can access benefits and savings from exclusive alliance partners. Partnering with leading businesses, The Dentist’s Advantage provides a comprehensive portfolio of the best products and services for members.
The Dentist’s Advantage was created to be an advocate for small independent dental practices and to create the same advantages for small independent practices that the large national corporate groups currently enjoy. Your current suppliers do not have any incentive to compete in pricing on their products because you are just one small practice with no leverage. The power of group purchasing results from combining the volumes for all members in order to drive down pricing while improving service for everyone.
The Dentist’s Advantage will bring you exclusive products, prices, and services on a day-to-day basis, allowing you to compete with the pressures of dentistry today, empowering you to succeed. Together, we can become the dominate force in preserving our dental culture through collective negotiation on behalf of our members.
