We speak to three winners at The Dentistry Awards 2016 about how winning has changed their practice life.

Best Young Dentist – East, Best Team  East, Best Practice – East

Dentistry magazine (DM): How do you feel to have won Best Young Dentist East, Best Team East and Best Practice East at The Dentistry Awards?

Sachin Sedani, North Hill Dental (SS): I am delighted and very humbled. I am grateful for the support I have received by my friends and family, most of all my work colleagues at North Hill Dental. I have worked really hard since graduating to be the best dentist I can be, and am extremely pleased to have been recognised by fellow dentists and delighted for my wonderful patients.

DM: Why did you choose to enter The Dentistry Awards?

SS: We have had so many compliments since the practice transformation in 2011. We chose to enter the awards to have our care recognised, the dentistry we provide and the family atmosphere we have created with a loveable team.

DM: What do The Dentistry Awards mean to you?

SS: The awards mean a great deal to us all involved at the practice. Being recognised for our hard work and within our profession is gratifying.

DM: What is the secret to a successful practice?

SS: Value every person within the team, set goals and grow together. Having a clear vision, having passion, being dedicated and working hard together, having fun together, all makes a great team. Above all, putting patients first and investing in your education and team.

DM: What feedback have you received from your patients since winning your awards?

SS: These awards reassure our patients that they are part of an excellent practice and the best in Colchester. They are part of a practice that truly cares about delivering high quality and ethical dental care. The feedback from patients has been overwhelming.

DM: Have you got any advice you would like to pass onto dentists who are thinking of entering The Dentistry Awards this year?

SS: Yes, if you are passionate about what you do and value quality care and looking after your patients and team then you should enter. It is a chance for your excellent care and hard work to be recognised.

Best Team – South

DM: How do you feel to have won Best Team South at The Dentistry Awards?

Peter Sanders, Dental Confidence (PS): The whole Dental Confidence team is absolutely delighted to have won a Dentistry Award. It is, after all, the most competitive award in the industry, with the best practices across the UK entering. Winning an award for Best Team South is especially important to us as it demonstrates that our success is a result of our efforts as an entire team.

DM: Did you enjoy the evening?

PS: The ceremony was a marvellous celebration, with an electric atmosphere. This year’s ‘circus theme’ was particularly unique and made the evening visually spectacular too. It was a night enjoyed by all.

DM: Why did you choose to enter The Dentistry Awards?

PS: We entered The Dentistry Awards to benchmark ourselves against other top teams. To receive an award is a symbol of a practice’s success and commitment to reach the very highest of standards, so we were delighted to be shortlisted for three!

DM: What do The Dentistry Awards mean to you?

PS: The Dentistry Awards demonstrate the fact that we continue to achieve the highest standards in patient care. They reflect our efforts to use state of the art facilities, in a modern, relaxing and welcoming environment – and that we are providing treatments that guarantee quality and patient satisfaction.

DM: What feedback have you received from your patients since winning your award?

PS: Since 2014, we have won three Dentistry Awards, and each time we win, we receive a wonderful response from all of our patients – especially from those who provide us with the reviews, testimonials and quotes that help us to win these awards. Our patients are always delighted to see that our hard work and dedication is rewarded. They share a sense of pride with our team.

DM: Have you got any advice you would like to pass onto dentists who are thinking of entering The Dentistry Awards this year?

PS: I would say – if you are thinking about entering – begin building up and collating evidence to demonstrate the success of your practice as soon as you can. Capturing the satisfaction of your happy patients is key and should be done in as many ways possible. Patients are, after all the most important aspect of any practice’s success.
