Why undertake CBCT training with us?

Rapidly Expanding Technology

Recent years have seen significant advances in Dental Cone-Beam CT and associated viewing & planning software. This has been accompanied in many cases by a dramatic reduction in patient dose and the required investment cost and as a consequence, the use of 3D imaging in day-to-day dental practice continues to increase at a rapid pace, as does it's list of clinical applications.

Effective Training is Scarce

Beyond the Core CPD for Radiography, IRMER Guidelines state that all those involved with CBCT imaging should be able to demonstrate 'adequate training to perform the task' but this has proven to be quite a challenge. Certificated training to ensure regulatory compliance and maximum clinical benefit, has been hard to come by but happily, we are here to answer this requirement, with delegate feedback confirming that we are comprehensively meeting this need.

A Specialist Training Partnership

With extensive experience in the Head & Neck Imaging field, HULBERT Dental ICT has joined forces with Carestream Dental, their principle supply partner for CBCT, to create the CBCT Training team. Through a series of comprehensive training events, the aim is to ensure that the entire imaging team keeps pace with the evolving regulatory requirements of this rapidly changing technology.

Course Information

Course content is largely driven by the training curriculum compiled by the British Society of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology as detailed in SedentexCT outcome document: HPA-CRCE-010 – ‘Guidance on the Safe Use of Dental CBCT Equipment’.

The curriculum requirements fall into two key areas:

  • An extension to regular Medical Physics Core Radiography CPD - generally available from your Medical Physics RPA.
  • Up to 6 hours theoretical and practical training on CBCT systems and 3D reporting software - this is where we come in.

The guidelines suggest that attendance is deemed a regulatory requirement for all users of CBCT systems, including those who are simply referring patients for acquisition of a CBCT image.

Feedback from our research suggests there is a much wider need beyond the regulatory minimum, so through theoretical groundwork, case-study presentation and a practical hands-on workshop, our intensive one-day courses support many of the theoretical and practical aspects of the BSDMFR curriculum, whilst aiming to develop much greater confidence in the use of CBCT systems and associated reporting software.

See if you agree with our aims and objectives and the tangible benefits we think our courses will bring to your team, your practice, your patients and ultimately, your business.
