Terms of appointment: 

This post is available on a secondment basis for up to five years, and the successful candidate may retain their existing terms and conditions including salary.

Work Pattern: 

This is a full time post, however we welcome applications from those wishing to work four days part time whilst maintaining links with other professional commitments for one day a week.

Location: 

This post is pan Wales, and the postholder may work from any of the Welsh Government offices, however, the applicant must be willing to travel across Wales for meetings and events and support Government business in Cardiff as necessary.

The Chief Dental Officer will ensure that the First Minister and Director General for Health and Social Services receive appropriate, timely, and high quality advice in respect of the practice of dentistry and the promotion of good oral health.

You will develop policy, legislation and standards by working closely with policy directorates and professionals across the Welsh Government. You will liaise nationally and within the UK and Europe with statutory and academic bodies and learned societies.
