True aesthetics require the whole face to be considered, says renowned US dentist Larry Rosenthal, presenter of a new seminar that teaches the art of facial aesthetics. Qualifying for seven hours of CPD, the seminar will explain how to determine true aesthetics by using variables like symmetry and balance, alongside the shape, size and colour of teeth, to fully evaluate the patient’s face. Dr Rosenthal will be exploring topics such as case diagnosis, treatment planning, prep and smile design, and artistic completion. Delegates can also expect an inside look at practice management ‘the Rosenthal way’, covering issues such as how to motivate patients and staff, the team and concierge philosophy, and how to be a better dentist. Dr Larry Rosenthal, who has a list of famous clients including Donald Trump and actor Matt Dillon, is billed as ‘the smile maker’ and has lectured extensively on aesthetics. He teaches advanced aesthetics at the New York University (NYU) and runs his own award-winning private practice. Dentists have traditionally diagnosed tooth problems functionally and aesthetically. Dr Rosenthal combines this approach with business principles designed to increase practice profits. He has won praise for his methods from his peers, including prominent aesthetic dentist Dr John Cranham. He said: ‘I have learned more from Larry about building a cosmetic-oriented practice than all the other cosmetic dentists combined. If you want to inject fun and excitement into your practice, as well as learn the latest cosmetic procedures, go hear Dr Rosenthal.’ ‘The art of true aesthetics’ will be held on Friday, 28 April 2006 at the Royal College of Physicians, London.
