Dentist and his nurses takes a giant leap

A team from a dental practice took a leap from 10,000 feet to raise funds for charity.
Dentist Dave Stephens and dental nurses Ali Wilks and Hannah Wakefield, from Chipping Manor Dental Practice in Wotton Under Edge, Gloucestershire, took part in the skydive and added to the practice's £60,000 raised for the Bridge2Aid charity.
Bridge2Aid, which the team has supported for five years, operates dental and community development programmes in North West Tanzania.
Several members of the practice's staff have already been to Tanzania as volunteers to train clinical officers in the safe extraction of teeth, working in very basic conditions.
The practice is planning a trip in January 2011 and 14 members of staff will be renovating a health centre in Bukmbi (a leprosy village) and running a play scheme for the children.
Dental nurse Hannah Wakefield said: ‘I was very nervous when we got there but as soon as we took off felt excited but strangely calm. As we jumped out all I could think about was the children I saw in Tanzania and how could I be scared. I would definitely do it again.'
Colleague Ali Wilks added: ‘I was so excited on the run up to it but when we were going up in the plane I was so nervous. The jump was really scary, not something I'd be in a rush to do again, but I'm so pleased I did it because
