Dentists get a Finnish welcome at the Ambassador's reception
12th Mar 2010The Ambassdor of Finland, Mr Jaakko Laajava, welcomed dental professionals to the Finnish Embassy at 14 Kensington Palace Gardens, London, for a seminar by Planmeca, the Finnish company that designs, manufactures, and markets high-tech dental equipment.
The seminar was on the topic of ‘highlights in imaging', which was presented by Dr Eric Waites from Guy's Hospital, London.
He offered a subjective overview of where 3D imaging sits in the dental industry and the justification of using cone beam computerised tomography (CBCT).
This was followed by a brief look at what Planmeca has to offer in 3D imaging.
Dentists who attended were offered a 240-day trial on any of their CBCT products.
The evening ended with a buffet reception that included the finest Finnish cuisine.
Planmeca has 2,200 employees in Europe and exports its products to more than 100 countries globally from Helsinki, Finland, and last year had a turnover €600 million.
During the Ambassdor's welcoming speech, he commented on the continued strong investment into research and development in Finland as a whole and told guests he was proud that Planmeca, too, took the same stance to further develop 3D imaging.
