Dental patient leaflets available for practices

The British Dental Health Foundation has made the content from their prestige range of patient information leaflets available online by licence.
The series of 52 educational leaflets, which were previously only produced for hard copy, will now be on–hand for people to use online on their websites.
A licence to show the patient material will come in from £100 per annum, depending on the number of leaflets used.
The payment of a licence fee will also entitle users to free updates of the material as they are produced to ensure that subscribers are equipped with the very latest and most accurate information.
The range of ‘Tell me about...' leaflets, which can be seen in dental practices and, inform the public on a variety of oral health matters, from gum disease to children's teeth to mouth cancer.
Chief executive of the Foundation, Dr Nigel Carter, said: ‘These leaflets are vital for dental patients to learn more about their own oral health. They cover a vast spectrum of subjects and have become a great use to many practices in explaining medical problems, symptoms and treatments.
‘It is a wonderful resource for practices that this material has been made available for online use. The leaflets are of great value and are the best in dentistry.
‘The small licence fee allows the user to exhibit the information word–for–word on their website, potentially drawing a larger audience to their material in the process. The Foundation produces the leaflets at considerable cost to its charitable funds so making sure we get the messages out to as many people as possible certainly goes a long way in fulfilling our remit as a charity.'
Those practices who are interested in purchasing a licence to display the information on their website will be required as part of the licence to join and maintain membership of the Foundation.

The Foundation is currently working on adding to their range of leaflets with more titles released in the coming year.
The licence fee will vary according to the amount of material used. The prices are as follows:
• 1–10 leaflets £100 per annum plus VAT
• 11–20 leaflets £175 per annum plus VAT
• 21 plus leaflets £250 per annum plus VAT
The copyright of the Foundation in relation to the material must clearly be shown on your own website.
