Sunita Verma with her award Sunita Verma with her award

Sunita Verma, founder of Sparkle Dental Boutique, to a pinnacle of professional achievement recently when she attained the much-coveted honour of British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) accreditation.

Sunita's accreditation is historic in that she is the first and only female dentist in England to have been honoured by the BACD and one of only 13 dentists in the UK to have achieved the accreditation.

The BACD is committed to promoting the practice of quality cosmetic dentistry, and has recently introduced credentials to allow its members to demonstrate that they have reached an agreed level of ability.

The process has been designed to allow dentists to demonstrate that they have the ability to diagnose, plan and execute cosmetic treatment of the highest standard, and that this can be done safely, ethically and competently.

Regarding the stringent accreditation requirements, Sunita says: ‘The accreditation process is necessarily rigorous and demanding.  I was required to submit case studies of my dental work in each of five restoration and tooth replacement categories.

'The demand for detailed case studies is designed to showcase a candidate's ability to diagnose, plan treatment, and perform procedures to the highest standards of competency. Any dentist who attains this standard has perfected their knowledge, skills, and ability to perform cosmetic treatments to the highest level.'
