The BDTA is proud to be supporting the Department of Health's (DH) Change4Life (C4L) initiative through its ‘Kick out the sweets, bring on the treats' campaign.

The campaign is designed to promote the benefits of a healthy mouth to overall good health and ultimately encourages families to continue to visit the dentist.

The colourful campaign supported by a collection of ‘healthy' cartoon characters commenced in September – and around 2,000 completed questionnaires have already been returned as a result of the involvement of dental practices across England and Wales.

Members of the dental team participating in the campaign are encouraging the parents who visit the practice to complete the Change4Life questionnaires, with their their children.

Stickers are then provided by the BDTA to give to the children who get involved and participating practices will have the chance to win one of four £500 vouchers to spend with a BDTA member company.

Tony Reed, executive director at the BDTA, csays: 'The success of the campaign relies on the involvement of dental practices across England and Wales promoting these positive health and dental messages.

'We are keen to spread the message about the benefits of a healthy mouth as widely as possible.  Thank you to all those who have committed to the campaign so far.'
