Following the success of The Premier Awards over the last five years, Dental Protection and Schülke & Mayr have once again joined forces to further develop the prestigious competition, which recognises achievements in developing awareness and effective management of risks in clinical dentistry. The awards are only one aspect of the initiative, which also includes a symposium that is held in December. Dental Protection enjoys a worldwide reputation for providing professional indemnity and risk management advice, while Schülke & Mayr is the European leader in infection control. Together they form the ideal partnership to further this initiative in 2006. The programme for The Premier Symposium 2006 will be relevant to the whole dental team and will be delivered in a style that is innovative, informative, entertaining and stimulating. The awards are divided into three categories; undergraduate, postgraduate and dental care professionals. Candidates are invited to submit previously completed work. The total prize fund is £6,000 and it is awarded for work the nominees have undertaken in one of six specific areas, including: • Consent • Record Keeping • Patient Safety • Infection Control • Health ansd Safety • Team working. This year’s awards will be taking place at King’s College London on Saturday 2 December during The Premier Symposium.
