Secretary of state for health, Andrew Lansley, will now address the 2011 British Dental Conference and Exhibition on Friday 20 May, it has been confirmed this week.

Mr Lansley will speak at 11am on the second day of the event, which takes place at Manchester's Central Convention Complex.

Delegates at the event will have the opportunity to hear first hand from Mr Lansley about major reforms to dentistry in England.

His appearance will come at a pivotal time for dentistry as pilots intended to develop a new dental contract begin.

Commissioning arrangements, too, will be in the spotlight, as discussions about the establishment of a new national commissioning board that would be responsible for dental care continue.

Mr Lansley is expected to participate in a question and answer session following his address, which replaces the previously advertised appearance by parliamentary under-secretary of state Lord Howe.

He's more worried that Dave will 'bottle' the big NHS reforms he's planned.......and dump him as well to keep Nick and crew on board......

Quite gordie. Re-arranging deck-chairs on the Titanic. IMHO.

You`re right ,no money but lets have a fair non corruptable system ,not one in which -we are all equal but some are more equal than others.

Eric Blair (note; not Tony B.Liar) was a wise man. I have to say, though, that if you can design any system which is really fair and non-corruptible, you are a better man than I, Gunga Din. I know it's inherently unfair, but I now only see adults who are able to cross my palms with silver (as I don't think dentistry is my hobby of 1st choice).
