Oral health charity Dentaid is inviting golfers from the UK dental profession to compete for the famous ‘Golden Molar’ trophy in the charity’s fourth annual Golf Day this summer. The event, to be held at Hamptworth Golf Club near Salisbury, Wiltshire, on Friday 22 June 2007, will begin with coffee and a bacon roll on arrival before a shotgun start at 9am. The course is beautifully constructed with a variety of challenges from copses, forest, water and downland, and has been the venue for numerous professional tournaments. Refreshments will be served during the game and players will meet at the bar for a buffet lunch afterwards. The Golden Molar trophy will then be presented to the winning team, with other awards for the runners-up, nearest the pin, longest drive and of course the wooden spoon for the team with the lowest score. Places are available for teams of four (although smaller groups and individuals are welcome and will be allocated to teams) with maximum handicaps of 28. The cost of booking a place is £49 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf, breakfast and the buffet. Luke Wordley, chief executive at Dentaid, said: ‘With more and more people taking part every year, it will be a fantastic opportunity to socialise with fellow golf enthusiasts and dental professionals, play a great game at a club with excellent hospitality, and most importantly support Dentaid’s pioneering work in the prevention and treatment of oral health problems in the developing world.’ For a booking form or more information please call 01794 324249 or email info@dentaid.co.uk.
