Prima Dental launches new bur iPad App on the back of £2.8 million machinery investment
Bur manufacturers, Prima Dental has pioneered the industry’s first bur iPad app to give dentists unrivalled access to the company’s vast range of bur products.
Dentists can use the iPad app to browse the company’s product range, which in total spans over 1,000 different types of bur, taking only seconds to make comparisons on the performance of products thanks to detailed data on speed, cutting ability and accuracy, readily to hand.
Available now to download at the Apple store and via a link at www.primadental.com, it’s already making the choice of product much quicker and easier for dentists compared to online searching and browsing brochures.
The Gloucestershire-based company has launched the app following a major £2.8 million investment into new machinery at its plant. As a result of this investment into additional high-performance Swiss produced machinery for the factory floor, the company is also expanding its 130-strong workforce with the recruitment of 10 new staff.
This overall investment comes as part of its commitment to leading the market in product innovation.
The company works closely with a global network of dentists, pioneering new bur designs based on its research into the newest techniques being implemented by dentists around the world.
On this basis the company is extending an offer to all Dentistry magazine readers of a free selection pack of products for any practitioner who shares good practice and expertise by posting a white paper on the Prima Dental website (www.primadental.com)
From single use disposable diamond bur products to gold finishing burs, Prima Dental’s global trade combined with multi-million pound investment in its factory is designed to ensure that it has an unrivalled range of products to meet any dentist’s needs. It has led to the company securing major global contracts including most recently winning a new $1.5 million contract with major distributors in the US.
The company now exports to more than 100 countries and has posted 20% sales growth year on year for the last five years.
This equates to production of 18 million-plus bur products a year, predicted to rise to 20 million products on the basis of these recent contract wins.
