Protection Against Swine-Flu H1N1 Virus

With the release of the updated HTM 01-05 government guidelines and also the outbreak of Swine-Flu H1N1 Virus nevermore has eliminating the risk of cross infection been at the forefront of your mind and your dental practice.

Some of The Dental Directory’s range of own label Classic and UnoDent products have been tested as effective against H1N1 Human Influenza Virus EN14476 (ATCC-VR-1469), Swine-Flu. Our Classic Hard Surface Disinfectant Spray is for rapid disinfection of hard surfaces and is available in 500ml trigger spray bottle (GSC 300) and 5 litre refill (GSC 305). UnoDent Unosept surface cleanser, available in 500ml with trigger (GSU 010) or 5L refill (GSU 030) is an aldehyde-free spray for use on medical devices and clinical surfaces.

Surface wipes effective against Swine-Flu are also available and our Classic Surface Disinfectant Wipes come in standard size, tubs of 100 (CAW 570) and refills of 100 (CAW 575) or jumbo size with ice lemon aroma in tubs (CAW 580) and refills (CAW585) for 200.

Sufficient cleaning of rotary and endodontic instruments need not be a concern, with our Uno Dent Rotary Instrument Cleaner (GEU 010 2L), effective against H1N1 and suitable with or without the aid of ultrasonics. You can also pre-soak hand instruments and accessories with our UnoDent high level disinfectant Surgical Instrument cleanser (GIU 010), available in concentrate 2L bottles and also H1N1 effective.

Impressions are also taken care of with UnoDent Unoguard, a disinfectant based on active oxygen for dental impressions and removable prothesis. Effective against H1N1 and other fungi and viruses in just ten minutes immersion time, this impression disinfectant is available in 1Kg packs (GJU 015). A 3 piece disinfection bath (GXU 005) is also available.

Frequent disinfecting of the hands is recommended and its made easier with our Classic Hand Disinfectant Rub tottle dispenser, clipped to your belt you can cleanse hands on the go. Also available in 250ml (GHC 000) hand pump and 5L (GHC 005) refill sizes, our Classic Hand Rub has a light peppermint aroma and is effective against the H1N1 virus. The 50ml tottle (GHC 010 6 pack) and 250ml hand pump size is also ideal for resale to patients concerned about contracting the virus.

An alcohol free alternative to the above is the Classic Hand Santiser which is mild foaming and suitable for frequent use. Available in packs of 6 x 50ml bottles (GHC 017).

Our UnoDent and Classic range offers a variety of examination gloves, both powered, powder free and latex, vinyl and nitrile.

The Health Protection Agency (UK) guidelines also state that face masks are suitable for close contact with infected persons and our new UnoDent FFP3D valved respirator are ideal. With a exhalation valve reducing hot air build up, these respirators are breathable whilst providing 99% particle filtration efficiency. (CHI 015) box of 10 and available from mid September. Tie-on, elasticated and moulded masks are also available in our Classic and UnoDent range.
