OsseoSpeed™ TX Profile –
anatomically designed implants for sloped ridges
360° bone preservation for sloped ridges
You no longer have to choose between buccal and lingual marginal bone preservation and aesthetics in sloped ridge situations. With the OsseoSpeed™ TX Profile, you can have it all – 360° around the implant.
The OsseoSpeed™ TX Profile is a uniquely shaped, patented implant, specifically designed for sloped ridge situations that allows you to achieve 360° bone preservation around the implant, regardless of the position in the mouth.
It is a well-known fact that the bone crest resorbs after tooth extraction or tooth loss. Remodeling has also been shown to be more pronounced on the buccal side than on the lingual side, often resulting in a sloped ridge in a lingual to buccal direction, even if an implant is placed in the extraction socket.1
Because bone-to-implant support is three-dimensional, it is important to have marginal bone support around the entire implant. Preserving the buccal and lingual marginal bone in a sloped ridge situation positively influences mesial and distal marginal bone levels, which in turn optimizes the natural soft tissue aesthetics. This is what we mean by 360° bone preservation in sloped ridges.
As with all Astra Tech implants, OsseoSpeed™ TX Profile is based on the documented key features
and benefits of the Astra Tech BioManagement Complex™. Used in combination with patient-specific
Atlantis™ abutments, you and your patients can look forward to long-term function and aesthetics.
Implant Placement
![]() When a regular implant is positioned level with the lingual marginal bone, the implant neck is exposed and the aesthetic result is compromised. |
![]() Unsupported lingual marginal bone will be lost when a regular implant is positioned level with the buccal marginal bone. The mesial and distal marginal bone levels, as well as soft tissue height, are compromised. |
![]() With OsseoSpeed™ TX Profile, you don’t have to compromise between marginal bone levels and aesthetics in sloped ridge situations. |
Clinical documentation
In an ongoing Astra Tech-sponsored multicenter study, conducted at 5 different centres in Europe and in the United States, 60 single-tooth OsseoSpeed™ Profile implants were placed in healed sloped ridges using a one-stage procedure. After 16 weeks of healing, a surgical re-entry procedure was performed in order to determine lingual and buccal bone levels.
