Two Major Launches from Kodak Dental Systems

Despite the impact of the recession on many manufacturing companies it is reassuring to see that some companies continue to innovate and launch new products. This year Kodak Dental announced the launch of two major products. You could say that each is positioned at the opposite end of the dental imaging scale.

The Kodak 1500 Intraoral Camera

Combining an attractive stylish design with the benefit of simple to use software, the Kodak 1500 Camera is one of this years most exciting dental imaging product launches.

This new intraoral camera features a unique liquid lens technology that enables instant and extremely accurate automatic focusing.  Also equipped with a light reflection removal filter, these features come together to deliver unprecedented quality still and video images.

The Kodak 15000 is available as a wired and also a reliable true “Wi-Fi” wireless Model.

The new camera is available from September onwards.

The Kodak 9500 Cone Beam 3D System

At the other end of the scale is the new Kodak 9500 Cone Beam 3D System, introduced by Kodak Dental Systems for easy-to-use three-dimensional imaging of the dental and facial anatomy.
The KODAK 9500 3D System enables dental professionals to quickly produce magnificent 3D images, ranging from dual jaw (9 x 15 cm) to full craniofacial images (18.4 x 20.6 cm) in one acquisition.

Full view 3D imaging such as this is directed more towards specialist dental and orthodontic requirements.  For more general applications the Kodak 90003D selects quadrant views ideal for Implantology and Endodontics. This local field of view is obtained at the same radiation dose as a 2D panoramic which in fact the Kodak 9000 will also deliver at the click of a remote switch without having to disturb the patient.

The Kodak 9000 C 3D will also capture ceph images. A true 3 in one easy to use system.

There are few areas in dentistry that will not benefit from having a 3D view.
