Get a head start on registration

Trainee dental care professionals who are due to qualify before 30 July 2008 can take advantage of the 2007 GDC registration fee of £72, so long as they apply before the end of this year.

The registration fee goes up to £96 on 1 January 2008, but trainee dental care professionals can submit a completed registration application before 31 December and pay the current fee.

Edward Bannatyne, GDC operations director, said: ‘This special offer is designed to encourage and motivate dental nurses and dental technicians who are coming to the end of their training to apply early, well ahead of the July deadline. Come on, get those forms in. You can only gain by applying now. We don’t want anyone to miss the boat.’

The same arrangement is also open to trainee dental hygienists, dental therapists, clinical dental technicians and orthodontic therapists who are due to qualify before 30 July 2008 and need to register before they can work.

DCPs who take advantage of this offer, but later do not obtain their qualification, will be able to request a full refund.
