Swiss Smile Dental Clinics enters India

A private dental chain has announced its launch of clinics in India.

The venture marks the first foray outside Europe for Swiss Smile Dental Clinic, which has a branch in Brook Street, London.

The company also has clinics in the ski resort of St Moritz and Zürich in Switzerland, where it was founded by sisters, Doctors Haleh and Golnar Abivardi.

Swiss Smile Dental Clinics India is said to have ‘state-of-the-art facilities and foreign trained consultants providing co-ordinated specialized next generation dental care to customers, all under one roof’.

Clifford Zur Nieden of Swiss Smile says: ‘India needs to leapfrog to reach the level of technological development that Western countries have achieved in dentistry. India is in need of international expertise and this can only be achieved by setting up world class dental facilities like the Swiss Smile Dental Clinic.

‘There is an enormous demand supply gap for world-class organised facilities in the Indian dental market and we aim to bridge this gap.’

Others will follow the first clinic in Bangalore – in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune.

The company is planning to set up 10 dental care facilities in India within the next three years.

The clinics aim to be part of the Indian medical tourism market.
