Children’s electric toothbrush gets official dental recognition

An electric toothbrush for children has won accreditation from the British Dental Health Foundation.

It follows assessment by a panel of dental experts who verified a series of clinical claims for the brush.

This newly accredited brush will form one of the centerpieces of the Philips stand at the British Dental Trade Association’s Showcase this autumn.

Dental professionals visiting the show will be able to learn more about the benefits of using the ground-breaking sonic children’s toothbrush with their younger patients as it has been proven to remove significantly more plaque than a manual toothbrush.

It encourages children to brush for significantly longer than with a manual toothbrush, helps establish healthy brushing habits early on and is safe and gentle on a child’s gums.

Dental professionals are invited to the Philips stand to find out how it achieves these much sought-after outcomes.

Also on show at the BDTA is Philips’ latest innovation, the FlexCare+ which has been designed for patients with periodontal conditions and which has been shown to significantly improve gum health in two weeks.

This new sonic toothbrush has a pioneering feature called Gum Care Mode which encourages patients to brush for longer and target specific areas of concern.

A three-minute cycle means patients can focus on areas which need more attention to improve the health of the gingiva, most specifically interproximally and along the margins.

Clinical studies have shown that patients using FlexCare+ in its Gum Care Mode brush for significantly longer and report back with fewer bleeding sites than those using a manual toothbrush.

The new system comes with a built-in UV sanitiser charger base to ensure the brush head remains germ free for periodontal patients in treatment.

These are just two products that make up the Sonicare portfolio and visitors will also find the HealthyWhite brush designed for patients with a particular interest in aesthetic outcomes and a renowned practice builder for dental professionals.

At the show, Philips will be unveiling a new brand direction for their Sonicare range and will be demonstrating how its consumer and professional business teams will be working more closely to help support the dental professional achieve even more impressive clinical and business results.

Also on display will be a range of impressive support materials, including Philips’ much-lauded Patients Profiles series for use in practice.

In addition there will be a number of show offers on the Sonicare range so for more information visit stand P09 or www.sonicare.co.uk/dp <http://www.sonicare.co.uk/dp> .

You can also call 0800 567 222 to arrange a Lunch & Brush for your practice from one of Philips’ area business managers if you are unable to attend the show.
