Unconfirmed reports suggest that the next dean of Guy’s and King’s Dental Schools in London will be an American, Dr Dianne Rekow.
She will succeed Professor Nairn Wilson, who is due to retire shortly.
Dr Rekow is currently provost of the Polytechnic Institute of New York University and NYU senior vice-provost for science and engineering.
She was also installed as president of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) in April this year.
She is a professor of orthodontics and of basic science and craniofacial biology at the New York University and has been practising orthodontics since 1985.
