A touch of dental magic

The special guest host for the 2011 Dentistry Awards will be cutting-edge comedy magician Paul Zenon.

Paul will be taking to the stage at Leicester’s Athena in December, entertaining the guests and playing a major part in the eagerly-awaited awards ceremony itself.

For the past 25 years, Paul has brought his unique combination of contemporary trickery and streetwise stand-up to the stages and screens of Britain and more than 30 countries worldwide.

Since presenting the BBC1 shows Tricky Business and Tricks ‘n’ Tracks in the early nineties, Paul has made around 350 TV appearances as performer, presenter and pundit, including This Morning (ITV), Through the Keyhole (BBC), The One Show (BBC), The Culture Show (BBC) and The Gadget Show (C5), while for the past eight years he has been a regular in ‘Dictionary Corner’ on Channel 4’s Countdown.

This is in addition to writing and presenting five one-man hour-long primetime specials – Paul Zenon Turning Tricks, Paul Zenon’s Tricky Christmas, Paul Zenon’s Trick or Treat, White Magic with Paul Zenon, and Paul Zenon’s Revenge Squad.

He has appeared at several venues worldwide including Disneyland Paris, the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, five casinos in Las Vegas and the London Palladium.

He has regularly appeared at the Comedy Store clubs in London and Manchester, while his solo shows Off the Street, On the Road, Turning Tricks, Cabinet of Curiosities and Lounge Wizard have had sell-out runs at the Edinburgh, Brighton, Adelaide, Melbourne and Auckland Festivals.

He is the author of several best-selling books including 100 Ways to Win a Tenner and the founder of The Wonderbus, a registered charity dedicated to providing fun-filled days out for elderly people.
